Well after a months gap between blogs, now is the time for an update.
Well the last few weeks have definitely involved a few treats from a few friends, as well as a couple of treats I’ve bought myself. Last night was one which got me thinking about writing the blog again, after listening to the Miss Saigon 25th Anniversary Gala on Radio 2. Amazing show, and one I’ve spent years obsessing about (As my first blog showed!) Last night listening to the show on Radio 2 was just amazing, and makes me want to see it again. Get tickets for it, you really won’t regret it. Next year I plan to see Puccini’s Madam Butterfly on which this is based when it comes back to the legendary Royal Albert Hall.
The last few weeks have been ones of presents from a few friends who have been on holiday, and some to make me feel a little better than I have been the last months due to various things. (Thanks for everything!). Pictures of one of these gifts is below, the one is a Minnie Mouse teddy, Bath & Bodyworks body spray & a lollipop of my favourite 90’s movie Jurassic Park bought from Walt Disney World. From another friend was a gorgeous “Daisy Buchanan” inspired head dress from the Great Gatsby, plus a couple of postcards of works by Mondrian & a set of gorgeous Audrey Hepburn postcards. Thanks to both of you for these!
I’ve also taken the last few weeks to treat myself, which includes a few books, beauty items and a few Christmas inspired treats! The older I get the more female I actually start to feel & so invest in my make up etc. This Autumn is no exception to that with new make up from both Dior & Bobbi Brown, as well as skincare & bath products from Elemis & the ultimate Christmas bath product from Lush. That delicious pink bottle called Snow Fairy (Winter is Coming!!!)
The best bargain in recent weeks has been a copy of Phaidon’s “Fashion Book” for £7.95, where the large coffee table version is £40, and Vivienne Westwood’s Autobiography. Showcasing the legendary grand dame of Fashion herself, a review will come in recent weeks on this!
Keep looking back next week for my next blog on real invest pieces vs the many fakes out there. Anyone who wants to buy me a ticket for Il Divo with Lea Salonga in a few weeks will make very happy indeed!
